Whether you're into the military or not, you've probably heard of the Arab Spring. In fact, there was a successful revolution in Tunisia, a civil war in Syria, and a slew of other unrest in the Middle East. You will often find a study about the subject at your local library. This is especially true in the case of those working in the health-care industry.


An analysis of the homicide and suicide rates in Northern Tunisia shows that they are very similar to those in the United States. According to the study, the rate of homicides per capita in Northern Tunisia was 1.8 per 100,000 inhabitants per year. But, that number has increased to 3.12 for every 100,000 residents per annum since the revolution. Also, the number of suicides rose 1.7 times after the revolution. This is an alarming statistic and is not only concerning for the government but also the country's youth. Because both causes of death are increasing, the nation's healthcare will have to adapt.
