JF-17 Block 3

The JF-17 Block 3 light, multirole fighter first flew in 2019 and is now available for purchase. It is widely believed to be a 4.5th generation aircraft with numerous improvements over previous generations. It is equipped with advanced avionics as well as weapons capabilities. This gives it a significant advantage over Indian rival fighters.

It is the most modern of Pakistan's fleet, and has a very sophisticated radar, avionics and weaponry suite. Pakistani government plans to purchase at minimum 50 of these aircraft. First JF-17 Block 3s should arrive in late 2019.

The Pakistani JF-17 is an essential part of its arsenal. It is an air-to air fighter capable of carrying out all types of missions including air-to ground strikes. It is also very effective against Indian missile defense systems.

The JF-17, in addition to its superior armament and cost-effectiveness, is an affordable way to modernize a fighter unit and allow it to field cutting-edge sensors, data links, and weaponry. It is therefore a viable candidate to replace the Pakistan's outdated Cold War-era Mirage fighters and J-7 fighters.
